Adding and reordering sections
Your resume is built from modular sections — each one represents a part of your professional story. Here's how to add, remove, and reorder them.
Default sections
Every new resume starts with these sections:
- Header (name, contact info)
- Professional Summary
- Work Experience
- Education
- Skills
Adding a new section
Open the section panel
Click the "+ Add Section" button at the bottom of your resume editor, or use the sidebar panel.
Choose a section type
Available options include: Certifications, Projects, Languages, Volunteer Work, Publications, Awards, Custom Section.
Fill in your content
The new section appears at the bottom of your resume. Add your entries and it will format automatically.
Reordering sections
Click and hold the drag handle (six-dot icon) on the left of any section header, then drag it up or down to rearrange. The preview updates in real time.
Tip: For most roles, we recommend this order: Summary → Experience → Education → Skills → Additional sections. But if you're a recent grad, consider putting Education before Experience.
Removing a section
Hover over any section and click the trash icon that appears on the right. Don't worry — this only hides the section from this resume. Your data is preserved and you can re-add it anytime.
Note: Removing a section removes it from the PDF output and your web portfolio. Make sure you actually don't need it before removing.
